The Takeo Dressco Onionskin Notebook is built around a paper most people thought had disappeared. When the last Japanese onion-skin paper was discontinued in 2010, Takeo worked with a specialist mill to revive it as “KateJo” — a very thin, faintly translucent sheet with a delicate crumpled texture. The result is 300 pages of something genuinely unusual: light as air, yet a pleasure to write on.

Onion-skin paper was once the writer’s choice for airmail, prized for its lightness. Here it’s paired with a slim coloured cover and a special binding that lets all 300 pages fall open flat.
