The Takeo Dressco Onionskin Letter Set is a small kit for the near-lost art of writing a proper letter. Inside sit twenty sheets of Takeo’s revived KateJo onion-skin paper — thin, faintly translucent, a genuine pleasure under a fountain pen — with six envelopes in two colours and a ruled guide sheet that slips beneath the page to keep your lines straight.
The envelopes are cut from richly textured Takeo papers, so the set feels considered from the first fold. Keep it in a drawer for the occasions that deserve ink and paper rather than a screen: a thank-you, a condolence, a note that ought to arrive by post. The sheets have a faint crumpled tooth you feel the moment you pick one up.
Small Details, Big Difference
What are the different paper types?
Araveal-FS (aka Arabelle FS)
A refined, uncoated fine paper with a delicately textured surface and soft, natural feel. Araveal-FS is known for combining a gentle tactile quality with excellent colour reproduction.
Mofuru Paper
A soft, warm paper with a lightly textured surface inspired by the feel of an animal’s coat. Mofuru has a pleasantly substantial feel despite its relatively low density, giving it a distinctive, cosy character.
Jean Felt Paper
A richly textured paper made with fine coloured fibres blended into the sheet. Its combination of laid lines and a subtle felt-like pattern gives the paper a traditional, understated appearance with plenty of tactile character.
Polka Laid Paper
A playful textured paper scattered with tiny colourful flecks and finished with a delicate laid pattern. Its slightly rough surface and speckled appearance give it a relaxed, distinctive character.
